Here is a before and after of the front end. It wasn't anything to drastic but i think it looks much better and the motor will benefit from the fresh air!

Grill install part 2
Here it it is installed. I used self tapping screws, they seem to work well everywhere else so I figured I would use them here as well.
Grill install
I finished the grill, primed, painted, mounted, and removed it. I then cut out the center section of the hood. I used one of those vibrating saws that all the hardware stores are pushing. It actually worked pretty good.

Body work
Ole blue has some front end body damage. I am not too worried about the appearance but the grill looks like hell. I did a little redneck modification to it and it looks volumes better. Also the metal loop price was off a Harley, I dug it out of a scrap bin.

Grillin
Here are the grills. The large one is the upper grill that mounts on top of the hood, the small one mounts behind the existing fiberglass front grill. I used 1.5"x .125" mild steel flat bar and expanded steel . I don't have a shear to cut the expanded steel so I used a grinder and a cut-off wheel.

Return of the FunVee
I got a couple days off and managed to show the hummer a little attention in between my 998 other projects. It is cool having 4 headlights but I want to try 2 for a more authentic look. I am also going to build and mount a custom top grill to pull more fresh air into the intake!
Stubborn
Well the last few months the passenger door on ole blue has decided to not open. I pulled the inner panel off as much as I could and reconnected the manual locking mechanism and oiled everything... Still no luck in opening. You win for now door...
Handle it
I have not been able to open the tail gate on my Nissan pick up in 5 years due to the handle being broken. AutoZone wanted $85 for a new handle...I found one online for $8.50
So here it is, sure is nice having functioning tailgates on all my trucks
