Viking metal
Today we ditched the old battery hold-downs (or lack there of) for new ones. A decent upgrade costing a total of $12.

Electrical
I got the lights up and working! I wired them on a switch, that way I can leave them switched on and control both lights via a switch up front. Or leave the switch on and control each light with its own built in on/off switch.

brushguard pt 6
I finally got the brush-guard mounted! Drilling the 1/2" holes through that 1/4" plate bumper was not an enjoyable task.

brushguard pt5
Here are the removable pins for the brush-guard. since Humvee hoods open forward the brush-guard must also fold forward to allow rood for the hood to pivot. I picked up a couple 1/2" trailer hitch pins at a local hardware store as well as two1/2" lock washers. I bent the lock-washers closed, sanded off some of the chrome on the hitch pins and welded the lock washers on. The washer stops are not necessary but this way they will always have equal spacing.

Brush guard pt4
Here is the process of making the brackets for the brush-guard. I started with a piece of 1/4" X 3"X 3" aluminum angle. Here is also a decent shot of my bandsaw, it makes cutting things immensely easier.

brushguard pt3
The brushguard comes with 5/8" holes, this is cool but I don't have the ability to make brackets for these because I don't have a 5/8" drill bit the biggest I have is a 1/2". I picked us some 7/16" washers since the actual inner diameter is 1/2" and welded them to the over the existing holes. Now I will be able to use 1/2" hardware on them.

Brushguard pt2
I finally had some time to spend on the brush-guard. After I had cut it off of the old hmmwv bumper I simply left it in the yard. So today I dragged it out and ground all of the remaining welds off.
