Oilpan continued...
We thought Eli's oil leaks were over... as it turns out the leaks were not fixed, the new gasket leaked like a sieve and the truck lost over a quart of oil in one day. Being that the paper gasket did us wrong we decided to go with RTV silicone. We purchased a new drain pan drained the new clean oil and dropped the pan. The new gasket was ridiculously hard to remove as it had seemed to have permanently attached itself to the pan. After a couple hours of prying off the gasket (being careful not to let any fall inside of the oil pan) we thoroughly cleaned the mating surfaces with lacquer thinner we applied the RTV and put everything back together. The following day we torqued everything down and filled the motor with oil.Throughout this entire process there was a constant bombardment of filth raining down upon us from the trans cooler lines. We removed the rubber from the hard lines (it was practically falling off), cleaned everything with lacquer thinner and reassembled everything with zip ties (like it was before).
