A month ago one of Thomas's rims cracked letting the air out of his tire. We replaced it with his spare which cracked yesterday. Luckily for him I had a spare set of wheels. Thomas dropped his truck off at McClays and after half a day they let him know they could not touch his wheels because the new(er) rims were drilled out to 5/8". Total cop-out if you as me... We took his truck back to my place and pulled the wheels. After examining the lugs we decided to hold off on the front wheels until we could pick up set heavy duty lugs that have a more defined taper and larger contact surface area. The front lugs are stock 1'' long x 1/2'' diameter and the new rims take up a half inch of treads. We didn't want to use the currant small aftermarket lug nuts, after all most of the weight and braking is on the front wheels. The 5/8" holes will actually work to our advantage being that the profile of the new lug nuts will allow us to grab about 5/8'' of treads.
Long story short we took two wheels in as "lose wheels" and they switched them over no problem.
